Because of my age and health I cannot be with you in Lebanon. I wish I could, and am supporting you through helping to finance August 12 ANSWER demonstrations in the US, and letters to newspapers, though most are censored. I am sickened by what the US government and Isreal are unleashing, the murder and the tortures. Please know that there are people in the US who hate these monsters in power almost as much as you must.

It’s a shame that Israel is being allowed to inflict widespread death and destruction. Shame on those countries which pretend to be global leaders and beacons of justice and democracy. People should rise against war and poverty. Hopefully the anger of the people will not fall on deaf ears. Regards from Malta, which shares part of the Phoenician history.

We know your agony, your stamina and your ideology of humanity will carry you through to a victory for humanity in the face of all the “superior amunition” of Israel.
We stand by you and want to be counted standing besides you symbolically and physically.
May God be with all of you in this movement to save humanity and human rights…

We must not surrender to the powerful and their interests! We have a world to win. How long can the peace loving democrats sustain their rethoric discourse of peace and democracy? Do they think that we are blind to the fact that they are the ones who are killing civilians by the hundreds?
Love, solidarity, resistance, disobedience, dignity and self-respect for all lebanese people!

I carry many fond memories of Lebanon, and now all I can do is watch night after night desecration of everthing, including life itself.
Israel hates beauty, tolerance, faith and lack of faith.
Lebanon, Syria and Palestine will have to continue to suffer as long as Israel lacks what Arabs have in abundance.

August 10th, 2006 at 4:12 pm
This is a courageous initiative, which deserves a firm support. Western people would not like to see US warplanes bombing quarters of London or Paris to get terrorists out of them: then is what happens these days in Lebanon really different from such fiction?
August 10th, 2006 at 4:16 pm
Israel must be made to understand that -
MURDER as cover for THEFT is *not* SELF-DEFENSE!
I sincerely apologize for my impotence in stopping the US-backed Israeli aggression against your people and your country. I know nothing can take away the pain of what you have suffered already and continue to suffer, but please know that many Americans understand just who is the aggressor and speak out at every opportunity against the war crimes perpetrated by Israel.

I am from several Orgs but also a Graduate with Masters Degree from the University of Oxford. On behalf of my colleagues there, I stand firm against Zionist Occupation in Lebanon, West Bank, Gaza, Gholan Heights etc and the neo-con’s dream of conquest of Iraq and elsewhere. UK, where I came from has a beleaguered leader who should be ashamed of himself for supporting this Agenda. But British Imperialism is a historical fact and cannot be hidden.
Many African and other countries with resistance and non-violence got rid of their shackles as did South Africa.
Long live people of Lebanon. We are All with you! From all over the World!

I agree to participate in all actions to cease fire and help wounded people and refugees. As human beings, all nations should be able to negotiate instead of killing savagely and destroying a whole nation.
August 11th, 2006 at 9:40 am
We would like to offer our support for your courageous campaign of civil resistance. We are a group of university staff, LSEStaffagainstWar, formed in opposition to the US/UK invasion and occupation of Iraq in 2003. We are deeply ashamed that along with other civil groups we failed to stop UK participation in that invasion just as we are ashamed at the support given by the UK government to the present US/Israeli attack on Lebanon. But we shall continue to struggle for a more just UK government policy and would like to reach out to you in solidarity in these dark times.
August 11th, 2006 at 10:06 am
The action you are taking is the most encouraging act since a very long time. I will pray that the non- violant civilian- resistance will overcome Hizbollah. That would be the new beginning, not just for Lebanon. And where ever possible for me I will support your actions. Now and simply to begin with I will go to the copy- shop and print out your posters and post them around my town.
All the best and lets make the change together

We have to keep our spirits and our reason alert and alive. Israel is a colonial enterprise, probably the worst in history, along with that of European colonisation of America. We have to keep in mind what happened to American Natives and not forget that it is our duty to resist this colonialist tyranny, calm and united.

The actions of the Israelis in Lebanon has exposed them to condemnation of the man in the street in this country - Wales, there are more people than you may believe who now no longer equivocate on who is the criminal and what is the crime.
August 11th, 2006 at 3:40 pm
My heart aches for the people of Lebanon and those other innocent ones involved in the horrific acts of violence in Lebanon. I fully support non violent actions against further violence and hope the people of Lebanon know that there are people who support them and are trying to help them.

The Innocent Lebanese Civilians were killed at Qana by using MK-84 Laser Guided Bombs (LGB) with BSU-37/B (Bomb Stabilization Units). These Bombs are Precision-Guided Munition (PGM) and were manufactured by the U.S. Company Raytheon for the U.S. Navy and Air Force.
The MK-84 LGB, which weights 2000 lbs (907 kg) and has 948 lbs (430 kg) explosive power, features accuracy, reliability and cost-effectiveness previously unobtainable in conventional weapons.

May peace and humanity prevail and the suffering stop immediately!

The people of Lebanon have once again shown both courage and resilience in this futile war, which has been provoked, and planned by the US in collaboration with the Israeli authorities. I must add that not all Israelis endorsed the policies of their PM; unfortunately the voices of the moderates an all sides are drowned out by the warmongers and mainstream media.
If the Cheney-Bush Axis of Ignorance think this dress rehearsal for another pre-emptive attack - on Iran - will help them, one hopes they realise that growing numbers of North Americans are beginning to see through the deception, propaganda and folly of their global objectives.
More importantly, I hope the current administration in Washington is voted out of office before they bring more violence to other quarters of the globe, and in the process help the cause of fanatics everywhere.
Before the US purues its aims of establishing democracies around the world - a pretext for Globalisation and economic dominance - it needs to sever its ties with the autocrats on its list of friends, and reverse the so-called national-security laws that do far more to erode civil liberties than protect societies.

I applaud your strength and courage to non-violently resist the aggression being brought upon Lebanon by the U.S. (my country) and Israel. The world now faces a choice between non-violence and utter extinction, and it is efforts like yours — which elevate peace over war, and love and compassion over hate — which give me hope that we who love this world and who love peace will ultimately prevail.
